Come and join us this evening for a run or walk in the sunshine! It’s looking like a beautiful one, and we’ve got something for everyone. Here's the plan:

Tuesday 13th May Schedule:

🌞 Jess is back leading her relaxed 5k group – perfect for all paces, but we won’t go faster than 7min/km (35+ min 5k).

🌞 Martha will guide a sub-30 minute 5k – still with stops and flexible pacing options.

🌞 Vic & Lucy are pacing our 4-mile group for those after a slightly longer run.

🌞 I'll be leading our walking group, our walking group is ideal if you're returning from injury, resting after a race, taking a break from running, new and just want to check us out.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year’s theme is community 🫶

🏆 Hayley | Cheryl | Laura | Jo 🏆

We’re absolutely blown away by the incredible nominations we receive every month – you make it so hard to choose! Keep putting forward your amazing RTW girls and we’ll keep sharing the love.

Hayley – Our powerhouse run leader who motivates @runtheworldmcr girls week in, week out. From her own training to behind-the-scenes RTW admin, pacing others to PBs at events and lifting up everyone around her — we truly couldn’t do it without you!

Cheryl – Big shout out to Cheryl for smashing her 5K PB this month and always showing up with the biggest smile, good vibes, and endless support for her RTW besties.

Laura – Crushed the Brighton Marathon and stays so dedicated to her training. Even though she lives in Stockport, she’s a regular at our Tuesday runs, always bringing the best energy and chat.

Meet our spring marathon RUNNAS, next up is one of our longest standing and most regular members, our trail running queen, the lovely @lynnehardwick and it also happens to be her birthday today 🧁 a massive happy birthday from your runtheworldMCR girls 🩷

💫 Which marathon are you training for?
Copenhagen Marathon (11th May)

💫 What made you want to do it?
Ryan wanted to run a marathon before he was 50 and signed up. I'm a competitive idiot, and I couldn't possibly let him be a marathoner without me. (We love this answer Lynne 🤣). However, it has given me the opportunity to fundraise for the Alzheimer's Society, a cause close to my heart.

💫How many marathons have you completed?
This is my first marathon. Only time will tell if it's the last.

💫What's going well with training?
Loving seeing the progress I've made and achieving things I never thought possible.

💫What's not going well with training?
Fuelling the long runs is proving a challenge at the moment.

💫What are your top tips for anyone thinking of signing up to a marathon?
Take training one week at a time. It doesn't matter what's on the training programme in the future. Get yourself a good playlist or podcast. Currently listening to 90s and 00s dance. Who doesn't love a bit of 2Unlimited or Vengaboys? Recommendations welcome.

💫Are you using @runna or any other training plans?
I'm using Runna and it's brilliant. I love the structure of the plan and would highly recommend it to anyone signed up to an event.

"You CAN do it! I trained from 5km to a marathon in 9 months. It was hard, but seeing my body adapt was incredible."
