Cycling is still a male-dominated space — but it doesn’t have to be. Less than one in three cyclists in the UK are women, and I think it’s time to change that.

So I’m starting a monthly cycling social — just for the girls.
 No pressure, no pace — just good routes, good chats, and ending with a coffee at @wandering_palate_monton

First ride: 26th July, 8am — meeting at Dukes Drive!
 If you’ve ever wanted to get into cycling but didn’t know where to start (or didn’t want to go alone), this is your sign.

Tuesday run clubs are the BEST day of the week💖

Tonight we had two runs! One 5k lead by the amazing @jessehx at a 7km pace with a few stops and then another 5k with yours truly with less stops, we even had @em_watts91 smashing her interval training plan tonight - we are all so proud of you✨

Almost forgot this is the whole point 💭 — connecting with like minded women, staying active, and championing incredible females 💪💖

One of the best things about @runtheworldmcr has always been the amazing community — not just the girls we’ve met through running, but the wider network of inspiring women doing big things in Manchester’s health + fitness space 🫶

Running’s been a bit on pause this year🤰🏼but I’ve LOVED staying a little bit active with reformer Pilates. It’s been a great way to stay strong for when I return to running 🏃‍♀️✨

Shout out to the wonderful Ana 🩷 — my fave instructor and the Manager behind the new Reformer Studios launching in Manchester, starting with Altrincham (opening this weekend 👀)!

She invited me down for a sneak peek with other mums + mums-to-be. The studio is stunning and it was so lovely to meet Holly, their amazing female founder, bringing this concept up from the Midlands 💫

They’re offering free taster sessions so if you fancy a little wellness morning out to Altrincham, have a peek at the timetable! Can’t wait to join the postpartum classes soon 🙌

And yes… I’m a sucker for a cute new pair of socks 🧦💕

We’re so proud to celebrate our incredible runners who smashed the Great Manchester Run — both the half marathon and 10k!

The atmosphere was electric, the smiles were wide, and the PBs were flying. There’s nothing like running through our home (running) town with the support of our amazing community 👯‍♀️ we always feel so proud to see you racing in your runtheworldMCR kit, bracelets and bright pink socks 🧦

Jess was back with her popular relaxed 5km group (with plenty of stops, of course!). Huge thanks as always to our run leaders Lucy, Martha, and Vic for planning such fab routes for our other 5km and 4 mile group.

We also enjoyed product testing some protein bars from Clear Performance to fuel our session 🍫 let us know what you thought 💭

💫 Which marathon are you training for?
Copenhagen Marathon (11th May)

💫 What made you want to do it?
Ryan wanted to run a marathon before he was 50 and signed up. I'm a competitive idiot, and I couldn't possibly let him be a marathoner without me. (We love this answer Lynne 🤣). However, it has given me the opportunity to fundraise for the Alzheimer's Society, a cause close to my heart.

💫How many marathons have you completed?
This is my first marathon. Only time will tell if it's the last.

💫What's going well with training?
Loving seeing the progress I've made and achieving things I never thought possible.

💫What's not going well with training?
Fuelling the long runs is proving a challenge at the moment.

💫What are your top tips for anyone thinking of signing up to a marathon?
Take training one week at a time. It doesn't matter what's on the training programme in the future. Get yourself a good playlist or podcast. Currently listening to 90s and 00s dance. Who doesn't love a bit of 2Unlimited or Vengaboys? Recommendations welcome.

💫Are you using @runna or any other training plans?
I'm using Runna and it's brilliant. I love the structure of the plan and would highly recommend it to anyone signed up to an event.

🏃‍♀️ Vicky Hilton – A longtime runner with us, always bringing the energy and inspiring others! She’s stepping up as a run leader this year and will soon be completing her England Athletics qualification.

🏃‍♀️ Jess Gallagher – Determined to hit big goals before turning 30, Jess smashed her sub-30 5K goal at Parkrun in February! We love your commitment and the friendships you've built through running.

🏃‍♀️ Lucy McCann – One of our C25K graduates who’s now a dedicated Parkrunner! She hit her 50th Parkrun in February! We’re so proud of your running journey.
